Caistor Colouring Book

Caistor is a rare survivor from a bygone era and looks like a living time capsule because most of the buildings date from the hundred years following the Great Fire of Caistor which destroyed virtually all the town centre in 1681. Look across the Market Place at elegant late Georgian and early Victorian buildings featuring small window panes and locally made orange clay pantiles and later the more expensive Welsh blue roofing slates. Today we appreciate the beauty and traditional details of the Market Place as well as the wealth of other interesting buildings in the old town.

Local artists Karen Hyde and Ailsa Wish have taught the local children and helped them spot good view points to sketch from. These outline designs should help you gain experience in spotting pleasing building shapes and layouts for satisfying and creative colouring in sessions.

Colouring Books available from the Café in Caistor Arts & Heritage Centre.
